Unemployment Under 9% -Lowest Level in Two Years

By In Uncategorized On March 4, 2011

We finally broke 9% – February unemployment numbers were released today and for the first time in 2 years the number is under 9%.  And more jobs were added in the last two months in spite of the blizzards across the country.

I think it is accurate to say we are now going to see companies really begin to hire again.  In addition consumer spending and sentiment are also increasing – further signs of an improving economy.

The last couple of years have definitely taken a toll on many people in the US – fewer jobs means fewer dollars to spend in stores and less tax revenue for local governments.  Hopefully things will begin to turn around at a greater  pace and many of the long-term unemployed will find jobs.
