Good news and bad today about unemployment. First the good news – unemployment fell to 9% – lowest level in 2 years and a sign of good things to come.
However due to the weather fewer jobs were created than hoped for or needed. Certain industries that are dependent on weather are down – construction and transportation. However manufacturing increased by 49,000 jobs -biggest increase since 1998! And retail is also up.
Once the weather evens out and the NE and Midwest dig out, we hope to see a pick-up in hiring and jobs creation.
