The Road to Recovery is Paved with Temp Jobs…

When candidates are laid off and go a few months without finding work, we always ask …”have you considered freelance?” It is a great way to maintain contacts, avoid a gap on a resume, and earn money.
And apparently companies are also thinking along this same line as jobs in the temporary sector are up 22% from last year. This is compared to the overall job market being up only .2%.
A temporary position (freelance) should not be considered a test run; don’t take it thinking you will automatically be offered fulltime work. This isn’t always the case but if your performance is outstanding, people will notice. And perhaps you will be hired or highly recommended by someone on staff.
