Landing an Internship
Many college grads are finding themselves without jobs, or having difficulty getting one. But landing an internship can be a great way to get in the door of an agency and show them what an asset you’d be to the agency. Internships are also a great way to show an agency that you have some experience and are serious about your long term career goals.
Here are some tips for securing a great internship!
- There is no perfect time to reach out for internships. Look for summer internships no matter what year you are in school, in fact, start early! If you’re not finding a job after college, consider taking on an internship to get your foot in the door.
- Find some great internships by networking with those friends that have already graduated. If you have a dream company, check out their website to see if they have an internship program.
- Realize that an internship will not pay all that much, if any. Use it as an opportunity to network, learn about the industry, and the ins and outs of what the job would entail.
Internships make your resume look stronger, so take initiative and find a great program that works for what you’re looking for in a career. Lastly, have fun with it! Internships are a great way to see what the working world is like, and meet some new people.
