Jobless Claims Fall Even Lower

By In Uncategorized On February 10, 2011

In spite of the cold weather and blizzards across the U.S., retail sales are improving and individuals are finding work or leaving current positions for better ones.

Unemployment claims feel last week to the lowest level in 2.5 years – good news for those seeking work.  All of these signs are  indicators that the economy is continuing a slow rebound.  With the unemployment rate @ 9% there appear to be less people looking for work and more companies hiring.

We believe that small steps are important and although it would be great to see unemployment fall to 5%, it isn’t realistic right now.  However there are positions in advertising/media that are going unfilled due to lack of strong candidates.  These are primarily in digital and we are encouraging our candidates to be cross-trained if at all possible.
