Fewer Jobs Created; More People Shopping!

By In Uncategorized On June 3, 2011

The job market took a hit in May 2011; fewer jobs in the private sector were created than anticipated and the economy is stalling.  Or is it?

There is so much information and little consistency in the numbers.  Retail sales at luxury stores increased in May.  In fact Saks Fifth Avenue saw a pick up of over 20% in May 2011.  Maybe everyone who had a job went shopping!

Macy’s also saw an increase of 7.4% and this department store has a more moderate reach than Saks.  Some economists believe that consumers who have solid and stable professions and incomes are feeling more secure and shopping for luxury items again.

We continue to see a strong demand for qualified media professionals at all levels especially in digital.
