179,000 new jobs added in April 2011
April unemployment numbers will be released on Friday and we are optimistic that the rate will drop slightly but do not expect any big movement up or down.
In anticipation of Friday’s numbers, ADP (payroll company) announced that 179,000 new jobs were created in April – less than March and not quite good enough.
And another report suggested that layoffs have fallen to the lowest level in over a year. This is positive news combined with the job numbers. And another indication large corporations are feeling optimistic about adding staff and the overall health of the economy.
We continue to see a big surge in hiring by our media clients. Most of our candidates are receiving multiple offers and companies are moving quickly once a good prospect has been identified.
