New Year/New Job
2011 has arrived and all indicators suggest a robust year for hiring . Many large companies in the US have held back on increasing staff for various reasons but are no longer able to keep unfilled jobs open or have newly created positions.
The Wall Street Journal’s website saw jobs postings increase from 2.7 million in 2009 (DEC) to 4.7 million in 2010 (DEC). And not all companies post openings online so there are probably more positions than reported.
And news on the unemployment front was also good last week – claims fell to the lowest level in a number of months.
We anticipate digital openings to remain active in 2011 and many of our candidates are looking at alternatives to agencies -Facebook, Google, Groupon.
