Let’s Talk About Integrity….
I just read an article on NYPost.com stating that over 50% of employees are going to start seeking new positions once the job market picks up. Reason – lack of trust in current employers. Interesting – I understand wanting to make a move for an increase in salary or a promotion or a chance to learn and grow but TRUST!!
Is there a lack of trust because of layoffs over the last few years? I don’t think anyone wants to cut-back staff and it is a painful process. However “trust” runs both ways. This weekend I had two interesting situations…both illustrating that integrity and trust are just words to some people.
When we invest in our candidates, we do so with trust in what is on the resume and what they say to us. But in the end, “actions speak louder than words” and what one says or does is often not what happens in the end.
So let’s talk about integrity and trust – it goes both ways! Ialways start out trusting but sometimes I too am disappointed in the outcome.
