227,000 new jobs created February 2012
February 2012 was another good month for jobs – over 227,000 were created and the unemployment rate remained @ 8.3%.
Manufacturing added 31,000 jobs in February 2012 – and since this same time last year over 227,000 more jobs in manufacturing have been added to the US economy.
Retail was down but to be expected after holiday layoffs and overall there are more than 195,000 jobs created in the retail sector.
Professional and business services added 82,000 positions in accounting, management consulting, computer systems etc. and these tend to be higher paying ones.
And the unemployment rate for 25-34 young adults dropped from 9.0% to 8.7% – lowest level in 3 years. We still have a long way to go in creating jobs but each month the news gets better.
In advertising and media, the demand for strong media professionals is excellent across the country.
